What makes this race stand out amongst all the others is the number of volunteers who have a stake in the benefits. For example, one beneficiary of the race proceeds was the Wake County SPCA. Rear in Gear - 2013 Race

The course was difficult because of the hills. The water station was completely inadequate - not manned sufficiently and runners had to wait, pour their own, or do without. The bagels were delicious! and it was a good cause. The shirts are a little on the flimsy side. Overall a pretty good race, with a few glitches.
