The following lists ranks the top races in the Mobile area that have been run within the past two years. These races are graded on a variety of factors including the number of runners, chip timing, and race certification. We will soon allow you, the runner, the ability to rate these races as well so that our RRP Score can be that much more dynamic.

Race Prestige Glossary

    - These races are the creme de la creme, so to speak. Naturally, these are the most highly respected races in the entire country and draw runners from all over the world. Only about 5 to 10 races at each distance fall into this category.

    - The races that fall into this category are generally very well organized with significant sponsorship support. Usually bringing in at least 2,000 runners, these are usually the races of the year in smaller communities and one of the top 5 most prestigious races in larger cities.

    - Average to above average races. These races are professionally done and attract almost all of the serious local runners and possibly some other runners within the region.

    - These races are typically the less popular ones in the area. It would be surprising to see over 200 runners at any of these races, since the marketing and sponsorship for these races is at a minimum.

    - Extremely unorganized and unpopular. You may be better off going on a training run than doing one of these races.
